My 3rd baby?

I'm eyeing this candy PDA - HTC Touch from Dopod.

Few months ago, only the black colour model is available in Malaysia. But recently, I've just noticed in the newspaper ads, the green one has came to our shores! Well, the greenie one costs RM100 more. Yeah, that's sales gimmick.

My 2nd baby is still hot and not fully explored yet. This 3rd baby has got to wait. The hole in mummy's pocket needs to be mended first.

My 2nd new baby

This is my 2nd "baby" (after my car). I've been eyeing this Canon Ixus75 a long time and last weekend, I finally got my hands on it for a steal! Normal price is selling at RM1,299, and I got this camera + 2GB SD card + spare battery + a screen protector = RM1,063

No regrets on this :) So I guess this baby will be following me on my coming trip to KK this month!

The World is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman

Currently readnig this book - "The World is Flat" by Thomas L. Friedman. My current reading speed is close to finish half of the book in 3 weeks. There are some interesting facts to read about, but the tiny words and the neverending story telling of Mr. Friedman make it hard to finish a chapter within an hour.

So far, I'm amazed how far we have came through in technology within the last century, and how it has changed our way of life and work vastly. Have you ever wonder how people work before computers come to age? I guess our generation has never experienced working life without email. I can't image sitting at my desk without a PC! I guess I would have to walk to and fro to my colleagues' desks, ringing up the phone...and receiving paper memos instead of a send-to-distribution-list email! OMG... that's kinda scary eh..

This book also tells you how the world and people have transformed, and if you are really crazy to believe the world if flat (or still round??). It tells you about the changes that are happening around the world while you were sleeping or burying your head deep in work. At a certain point, it's kinda scary actually to take in what you have read in this book. I felt like I have just watched the world whizzed by while I was just blinking my eyes.

If you don't believe me, just read throught the first 10 subchapters of the book. It tells you about the 10 "flatteners" of the world.

Here's an entry on this book and its author on Wikipedia.
